The 5th December 1970, he tried out for Los Cebollitas, a junior team belonging to Argentinos Juniors. Goyo Carrizo, a friend of his, introduced him to Francis Cornejo, the trainer. 'Are you sure you’re 10 years old?' asked Cornejo. And he didn’t even have an ID to prove it. Only an ageless talent. Los Cebollitas remained unbeaten for 136 matches and became a legend.
He made his debut in First Division the 20th October, 1976 against Talleres de Córdoba. In ten days he was going to be 16 years old. The trainer, Juan Carlos Montes sent him into the field: 'Go, Diego. Do what you know'. And he did it. To begin with, a wonderful shot through the legs of the first rival he met when he touched the ball for the first time. He played with that t-shirt until 1980. They were 166 matches and 111 goals. It was the first battle of a continuous war: enhance the humble.
 He made his debut the 22, February, 1981 against Talleres. He won 4-2 and he scored 2 goals. Boca and Diego seemed made for each other. He became champion of the Metropolitan Tournament. Diego played 40 matches and scored 28 goals. He came back. He made his debut the 7 October, 1995 winning 1-0 against Colón. On the 25, that same month, he said good-bye with a victory.
He made his debut the 4th, September, 1982 against Valencia. He lost 2-1, and scored the goal. He was seeking for revenge after the worldwide frustration. First, an hepatitis, a criminal coupe, next. He won the League’s and the King’s Cup. The 5th May, 1984 he said good-bye loosing against Bilbao Athletic, in the final match of the King’s Cup. He played 58 matches and scored 38 goals. His magic remains in the memory of Catalan people.
He made his debut the 16th, September, 1984 against Verona. He lost 3-1. During the season 1986/87 Napoli had gone for its first scudetto and again in 1989/90. Also, the Italy Cup 1986/87, the Supercup ’90 and what’s more, U.E.F.A.’s Cup 1988/89. The 24th March 1991 he left the club loosing against Sampdoria. 4-1, the good-bye goal. He played 259 matches and scored 115 goals.
 He made his debut the 4th, October, 1992 against Bilbao Athletic, at San Mamés Stadium. He lost 2-1. His return to Spain couldn’t be but at Sevilla, the Cathedral of his eternal basque rivals. He had his confrontations, especially against the big ones, like Real Madrid and Barcelona. He left shouting after a match against Burgos, the 12th June, 1993. In total, he played 29 matches and scored 8 goals.
He made his debut the 10th October, 1993 against Independiente. He lost 3-1. Having lost much weight, he showed that magic doesn’t depend on age, nor weight. His playing hooky in the presentation became history, although it didn’t end up in a goal.
He made his debut the 27th February, 1977 against Hungary. He won 5-1. Since then, no one did so much for his t-shirt. For the Selection Maradona crossed the ocean five times in twelve days, played with a hurt ankle. He was world champion in Mexico ’86 and world sub-champion in Italy ’90 with 21 matches in four World Cups. He played 91 matches and scored 34 goals.
