The 5th December 1970, he tried out for Los Cebollitas, a junior team belonging to Argentinos Juniors. Goyo Carrizo, a friend of his, introduced him to Francis Cornejo, the trainer. 'Are you sure you’re 10 years old?' asked Cornejo. And he didn’t even have an ID to prove it. Only an ageless talent. Los Cebollitas remained unbeaten for 136 matches and became a legend.

He made his debut in First Division the 20th October, 1976 against Talleres de Córdoba. In ten days he was going to be 16 years old. The trainer, Juan Carlos Montes sent him into the field: 'Go, Diego. Do what you know'. And he did it. He made his debut the 4th, October, 1992 against Bilbao Athletic, at San Mamés Stadium. He lost 2-1. His return to Spain couldn’t be but at Sevilla, the Cathedral of his eternal basque rivals. He had his confrontations, especially against the big ones, like Real Madrid and Barcelona. He left shouting after a match against Burgos, the 12th June, 1993. In total, he played 29 matches and scored 8 goals.

He made his debut the 10th October, 1993 against Independiente. He lost 3-1. Having lost much weight, he showed that magic doesn’t depend on age, nor weight. His playing hooky in the presentation became history, although it didn’t end up in a goal.

He made his debut the 27th February, 1977 against Hungary. He won 5-1. Since then, no one did so much for his t-shirt. For the Selection Maradona crossed the ocean five times in twelve days, played with a hurt ankle. He was world champion in Mexico ’86 and world sub-champion in Italy ’90 with 21 matches in four World Cups. He played 91 matches and scored 34 goals. He is the flag of Argentine football.
