Neymar is happy at the Catalan giants
The club chief insists the attacker is happy with life at the Catalan giants and is confident he will sign a new contract despite growing speculation surrounding his future
Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez is confident Neymar will extend his stay with the Spanish club, insisting the attacker is comfortable at Camp Nou.
The 24-year-old has been in negotiations with the world, European and Spanish champions for months, though he is yet to reach an agreement with the club, prompting speculation over a possible move to Real Madrid.
However, Fernandez is sure the Brazil international is happy at the Catalan giants and will stay put for the time being.
"I'm going to say the same that I thought three months ago," he told TVE.
"He will continue with us because he's happy here. Neymar will continue at Barcelona.
"I would be concerned if Neymar wouldn't be comfortable, but that's not the case. He's going to continue at Barcelona.
Brazil coach Dunga is hoping Neymar will lead his team at the Olympics on Rio this year as one of the overage players he is allowed to add to his team.
Dunga arrived in Barcelona to hold talks with the club over making Neymar available, but Fernandez admits no decision has been made as of yet.
"Playing is always a risk," he added. "We'll try to decide the best for the player and for the club. We have to talk."
Neymar has scored 18 goals and made 10 assists this term in 24 La Liga appearances for Barca, who sit eight points clear of Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.
