Who is Manchester United's new No.7 jersey
Louis van Gaal may be losing his record signing to Paris Saint-Germain after just one season, but a club legend is happy to wear the club's colours again
Angel Di Maria has decided against taking on the challenge of living up to the long list of legends to have worn Manchester United’s famous No.7 shirt as a move to Paris Saint-Germain nears, but one member of the elite group is already looking to the future.
David Beckham has been sunning himself beside the pool in United’s new jersey for the 2015-16 season, revealing via a post on Instagram that the he and his family have all been kitted out following a “nice little gift from Manchester.”

Is this Louis van Gaal’s way of seeing whether the former England captain is ready to make a dramatic return to Old Trafford? Not on your life. But it’s a great marketing ploy from the club after signing a £750 million, 10-season kit deal with Adidas.
Still, with fellow former United No.7 Cristiano Ronaldo passing on the honour to Michael Owen, Antonio Valencia and then Di Maria, United could certainly do worse than giving Golden Balls another chance in the famous top.
