Lovren: It's a great pleasure to play under Jurgen
The defender says it is a "great pleasure" to play under the former Borussia Dortmund boss and is enjoying his own return to the team in the absence of Mamadou Sakho
Dejan Lovren says it is a "great pleasure" to play under Jurgen Klopp and claims he and his Liverpool team-mates have started to believe in themselves since he took over.
Lovren began the season in the first team under Brendan Rodgers before losing his place in September, making just one Premier League appearance that month.
An injury to Mamadou Sakho has given him another chance to stake a claim, however, and he was in the starting XI for the impressive 4-1 victory at Manchester City on Saturday.
"It's a great pleasure to play under Jurgen," Lovren said ahead of Liverpool's match against Bordeaux in the Europa League. "We all know what he achieved at Borussia Dortmund.
"It's always great to play in the first team. It's definitely a great opportunity for me to play more games than usual."
Buoyed by their rout of City at the Etihad Stadium, Liverpool can qualify for the Europa League knockout stage by beating Bordeaux at Anfield on Thursday.
"The most important thing was that we need to believe in ourselves and we have started to believe in ourselves," Lovren added.
"We know it will be a tough game. Bordeaux are a quality team in the French league. We need to win if we want to be first in the group.
"We need to approach every game the same - it's not like Man City, but we respect everyone."
