Andres Iniesta: Messi miss the only sour point at Man City

After playing a part in Barcelona's 2-1 victory over the Premier League champions, the Spaniard lamented the dud ending to a solid away performance

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta says Lionel Messi's "unfortunate" penalty miss was the only blot on a terrific win over Manchester City on Tuesday. Two first-half efforts from Luis Suarez propelled Luis Enrique's men into a two-goal lead and, although Sergio Aguero pulled one back for the hosts, they eased over the finish line after City were reduced to 10 men when Gael Clichy was sent off. Barca had a chance to go into the second leg with three away goals when they were handed a penalty in the final seconds of the match, but Messi's strike was saved by City goalkeeper Joe Hart before he somehow headed wide the open-goal rebound. Iniesta lamented Messi's missed opportunity - which his coach insists will not see the Argentine taken off spot-kick duties - but stressed the way that they bounced back from Saturday's shock home defeat to Malaga was encouraging. "Except for the penalty, which was unfortunate, we're very happy with the Manchester result," he is quoted as saying by AS. "A 3-1 win would have ended the tie before the Camp Nou leg. "But we leave with a good feeling. It was important to put in a good showing after the defeat against Magala on Saturday. "Man City also had their chances, but we did a good job. They will be more dangerous at Camp Nou. We need the same concentration." Barca will try to prevent any sort of Man City comeback in Catalunya on March 18, four days before they play Real Madrid in a Liga Clasico clash. Manchester City 1-2 Barcelona Watch Highlights
