Kampl join Borussia Dortmund for a €10 million
Kampl has scored 29 in 109 appearances for Salzburg in all competitions and won 14 caps for his country.
Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Kevin Kampl has expressed his delight after agreeing to join Borussia Dortmund for a reported €10 million.
The German-born midfielder, who started his career at Bayer Leverkusen but represents Slovenia on the international stage, has signed a contract with the club until 2019.
It is a move the 24-year-old is absolutely elated with, and he spoke of his eagerness to help the team and improve as an individual.
"It's great that it all worked out. I am really happy. As a child I was a BVB fanatic. It's a dream come true to be playing with such a great club," Kampl is quoted as saying by Ruhrnachrichten.
"I am now part of Borussia Dortmund, everything else does not matter. I hope that I can continue to mature at Dortmund.
"I'll give everything from day one. That's me, I cannot give less than 100 per cent. I'll try to help the team in offensive play and counter pressing.
"It all happened very quickly for me, it's all a bit confusing. I was at Salzburg for two-and-a-half years, it was a very nice time.
"Now I'm ready for the next step and think that the style of Dortmund is the exact fit for me."
Dortmund will spend the Bundesliga mid-season break inside the relegation zone following a woeful start to the season, but Kampl is adamant the club will turn their fortunes around.
"This is just a snapshot. I am sure that we will fully attack in the second half of the season," he added.
"You have to see that, for now, we do not talk of the Champions League so much. The team must stabilise.
"In the second half of the season we have to score as many points as possible."
