Goal readers back Ribery for Ballon d'Or
The France star secured nearly 40 per cent of the votes, beating Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as your favourite for the game's top individual gong
Goal readers are predicting Franck Ribery as the next winner of the Fifa Ballon d'Or after a poll was carried out on Saturday.
The Bayern Munich and France star, who claimed the Uefa Best Player award earlier this year, emerged as your clear favourite to add the global gong to his collection with nearly 40 per cent of the votes.
The 30-year-old ended more than 1,000 votes clear of closest rival Lionel Messi, who finished with 27.17 per cent of our readers' backing, while Cristiano Ronaldo was third on 23.15 per cent.
Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic - who Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger described as the world's best player on current form - came in fourth with 7.57 per cent of the votes.
Ribery's team-mate Arjen Robben came in last in our poll, with just 1.41 per cent, while 1.59 per cent of you believe the award will be given to a player not named in our list.
A shortlist of 23 candidates for the 2013 Ballon d'Or will be announced by Fifa on October 29, before a final selection of three nominees is named later in the autumn. The prize will be presented at the Ballon d'Or gala on January 13, 2014.
